Steve Maxwell is a real life nomad that travels the world teaching people martial arts with nothing more than what he can carry on his back. He has over 50 years of training under his black belt, and some seriously counter-intuitive approaches to life. Named as one of the top 100 trainers in the US by Men's Journal, this former NCAA division one wrestler and Brazilian Jujitsu Pan-American and world championship gold medal winner has become a crucial part of the fabric of modern Jujitsu.

Maxwell’s credentials include being the first American black belt under Relson Gracie, opening the first Gracie Jujitsu school on the East Coast, and being one of the original investors in the UFC. He was also the strength and conditioning coach for Jujitsu legend Royce Gracie and helped prepare him for his historic victory at UFC One. Maxwell’s undeniable talents as a teacher have made him one of the most sought after instructors in the world. In addition to the countless workshops that he gives all over the globe, he has trained the likes of famed UFC commentator and long-time MMA practitioner Joe Rogan, as well as multiple branches of the US government. His highly effective and insanely creative approach to strength and conditioning is also seen and featured in countless books and magazines including Men's Health, Muscle Media and the Naked Warrior.
